Dear Italy,
When dad used the phrase, “bands of marauding thieves” to describe his concern about my spending time with you this summer, I scoffed. Dad surely couldn’t be referring to the country I had dreamed of visiting. The blessed country where I could eat my weight in pasta, finish it off with gelato, whilst capturing the beautiful countryside, cityscapes and awesome historical monuments on my canon? Heavens no. Unfortunately, dad was right about you, dear italia. At this moment, that’s all im saying. Don’t worry, a vivid description of your dastardly deeds will follow, but hopefully not until the scales have been tipped in favor of team italia.
