quote of the day

Hey Miss Booth, I heard from a reliable source that you still work at Tennyson (cant help but feel lied to...lol). I also heard that you're still in charge of yearbook. I came to visit today but I heard that you weren't there yet. When Tennyson goes back to school I'll still be on break so I might stop by again. --email from a dear former student

quote of the day

me:  i'm sorry, your last name again....? (to a biology teacher right after i convinced him to  be a guest chef in my foods class)

quote of the day

dear student:  hi ms. booth.  this is for you. (handing me a small, wrapped box.)
me: oh, thank you honey. (that term of endearment saves me every single day. it changes me from someone that could be mistaken for one of their classmates into their 80-year old grandmother.  i love it.)  that was so thoughtful.

(5 minutes later)
same dear student:  um ms. booth?  do you celebrate christmas?
me:  yes, i do.
same dear student:  oh good.  because, um yah.  that has to do with christmas.

from their letters

i dont remember if i posted this or not.  either way, its a reminder that helps me love them, even when my first response is not to do so.

at home i live with my parents in a small village with about 500 people.

the hardest thing i've ever had to deal with was when my litle brother was diagnosed with leukemia at age two, on easter sunday 2000.

my junior year i spent at a lockdown rehab in la verkin, UT.

i've heard the class was really fun but that the teacher before stressed everyone out.

my us history teacher scares me.  a lot.

this summer i changed a lot from hanging out with people i shouldn't to people that are respectful and drug/alcohol free

i don't really know what to write about myself, because i'm still trying to figure out who i am....and it always turns out looking pretty, because, hey, who the h*** doesn't like CAKE?!

i want to be a psychologist, a nurse, a cosmetologist or a veternarian.

well, my name is ian and that is what i usually go by, although i do have some nicknames, such as "eonfrom teton" but that's another story.

i would like to know how to make more exotic foods so that i may impress my mother and girlfriend.

just hope this year we can have a little bit more fun and i can learn something new about food and have a great year with you.

yesterday i slept over at my best friend's house, candice, because i didn't want to go to school by self in the morning.

i took this class becaues everyone in my family thinks I'm a bad cook.

i am currently single and lookn 4 a wonderful guy

i have 3 cats and 1 fossilized lizzard.

especially because dr. spock messed up so many little kids with his breast feeding tips.  that really ticks me off how men write baby books or people without children write parenting books.

i do a lot of jiu jitsu, judo and boxing but i wont fight anybody at school, don't worry.

i am a down to earth kind of person and like to try new things, and yes, i know, my penmanship sucks

i got a little faith that this class might actually work out OK.

i have 3 moms.  2 are married, one is married to my dad.

quote of the day

i don't consider myself a real peeper--they go in for bedrooms, but it's families in sitting rooms or kitchens that thrill me.  i can imagine their entire lives from a glimpse of bookshelves, or desks or lit candles or bright sofa cushions. -- juliet to sidney in the guernsey literary and potato peel pie society
